About Us

Our names are Ryan and Carey Ransom. We moved to Knoxville, TN in 2001. During our time in Knoxville, we have enjoyed how different the culture is compared to where we are originally from (Ryan is from Indiana, Carey is from Colorado). There were so many differences that one would not expect by just traveling a few hours down the interstate.

One of the biggest differences that I had no idea about is that they call shopping carts buggies in Tennessee! I didn’t know what to say the first time that I went to the grocery store and the greeter asked me if I needed a buggy. I said “A what?” She said you know, a buggy and pointed to a shopping cart. It was then that I knew that I had entered a different culture. Not good, not bad, just different.

Planting the Seed

The good thing about going to a different place is that you can see different ways of doing things that you have not thought of before. This is where Show & Tell Consignment Sale was birthed. Here in Knoxville and other cities throughout the south, the concept of consignment sales is all around. Everywhere that you look someone is doing a consignment sale. Eventually this trend caught our attention. As we researched these sales, we realized how much these consignment sales helped the people in the community earn extra money for things that basically cluttered up their house and purchase things that they need at a great price. We came to understand how many of our friends use money earned in and items bought in these sales to clothe their children for each upcoming season.

Watching it Grow

The final thing that we realized about these sales is that this was the first time that we had really encountered them. After seeing the benefits to everyone involved in these sales, we decided to look into starting our own business. This was a difficult decision because it required a great deal of faith and sacrifice, but we knew that it was the right thing to do. This is when Show & Tell Consignment Sale was birthed. We are so excited to be able to have a business that is able to help people. We have always said that this company’s goal is not to become greedy and rich, but to truly be able to make a positive impact on every community and person that we come in contact with. Thank you for caring enough about our company to read about us. We want you to know that if you need anything, let us know and we will go out of our way to meet your need.

With Great Excitement,
Ryan and Carey Ransom
